Brenda Bowen

Dr. Brenda Bowen is an interdisciplinary geoscientist who studies drivers and responses to environmental changes bridging human to geologic time scales.  She is an Associate Professor in the department of Geology and Geophysics and is the Director of the Global Change and Sustainability Center. Dr. Bowen’s research focuses on how changing environmental conditions (both “natural” and human- induced) influence surface processes and the composition of sediments and fluids. Her work integrates physical earth systems processes together with other disciplines including art, microbiology, social science, policy, engineering, and planning.
