Kayla Mauldin

Master's Student

Kayla Mauldin is a second-year Master’s student in the City & Metropolitan Planning Program at the University of Utah.  She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from Michigan State University. There, she was part of a team that received the 2018 Michigan Association of Planning Student Project Award for their work on the neighborhood plan for Vine, Kalamazoo.  At the U, Kayla is exploring the relationship between housing and health – currently conducting research on informal housing in Salt Lake City.  Along with housing, Kayla maintains a passion for ecological planning and ecopsychology.  When not buried in books, she can be found adventuring in the mountains or sampling one of Salt Lake’s many culinary delights.
