Stephen Goldsmith

Stephen Goldsmith’s engagement with the Center for Ecological Planning and Design (CEPD) focuses on the sense of urgency needed in addressing critical problems of our time. As an associate professor in the University of Utah Department of City & Metropolitan Planning, and particularly in his role as the Undergraduate Curriculum Coordinator, his work developing the College’s Urban Ecology program ties directly to the goals and mission of the CEPD. Stephen’s research includes developing portals to connect an international, intergenerational network of people responding creatively to the challenges their places inspire, with an open-source approach to knowledge sharing. For Stephen, the CEPD links urban ecology with ecological planning, where adaptive planning processes become tools for tangible change.
