The Utah Resilience Initiative is a network of hazards researchers within the University of Utah who seek to develop interdisciplinary perspectives in disaster risk reduction, response and recovery science. Led by the College of Architecture + Planning (CA+P), the Initiative has three main aims:
To produce collaborative, interdisciplinary research and teaching that advances innovative ways of managing hazards and building disaster resilience in the built environment;
To advance community-responsive research by engaging local stakeholders in the research process; and
To promote educational events that raise awareness of disaster risk and resilience building in the Wasatch Front community.
